Off Road with 20in alloys - Shamon - 25-04-2012 04:40am Hi All, Can someone tell me if rim size (I.e 20in's) presents any limitation on the off-road capabilities of the Evoque. RE: Off Road with 20in alloys - XFullFatTim - 25-04-2012 10:08am Took mine off road on 20"s (photos and videos are here http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y217/jollyjack99/Evoque%20Offroad/ ) - it is possible but due to the low profile of the tyres pinch flats are more likely, sharp flints more likely to puncture them (remember you have no spare wheel as well!) and you are open to lots of scuffing of the alloys. If you can get hold of a set of 17" or 18" wheels then you can fit some BF Goodricht All Terrain or General Grabber AT2's tyres that have decent sidewalls and a more appropriate tread pattern for off road use. So yes 20" wheels and tyres do limit you a bit. Also if you can get a BFG tyre to suit you will increase ground clearance by about 25mm |
