Car audio when not driving - New CD - masmullin - 30-03-2012 04:07am

Hi all

I have a new CD. I want to listen to it in my Evoque because this is BY FAR the best place I have to listen to music.

Problem is, I dont want to run the car for no reason other than listening to the CD. Is there any way I can get the car audio w/o having the car running?

Hi
just press the start button without pressing any of the pedals and it will turn on the ignition. Then the CD will be active. No idea how long it stays on as there may be a timeout.

Yes there is a timeout not sure how long 5 to 10 minutes probably...on mine anyway.

I think its 10 minutes until it shuts down to conserve the battery. It will let you keep turning it back on until the battery hits a certain level when it won't let you do anything until you power up the engine.

You could also press the on/off button beside the CD slot, that does the same thing as above and for as long

Thanks for the ideas guys, but being interrupted 6 times isn't really acceptable. Ohhh well.

Presumably, having a flat battery and not being able to start the car after listening to the CD wouldn't be acceptable either? The battery only has so much capacity and the audio system is a big consumer of power.
