18 inch alloy wheels pic request - XKjimmy - 04-03-2012 07:04pm

Hi all,

New here, Great forum you have Very Happy

I have a 2006 XK convertible at the moment. Currently have the itch to change car and to me the Evoque has everything that I'm after (and not getting stuck again in the snow!) If I do get one, I think I will go for one with 18 inch alloys as I've read the ride is is better, It would be the pure with options in Orkney grey I would be after when I go ahead.

I was wondering if anyone has any pics of the Evoque with the 18 inch wheels? Had a good look in the gallery, Lovely looking cars!

Regards

james.

Welcome to the forum James. Before you take the plunge and spend extra money get along to a dealer and ask for an extended test drive. The ride on 19" wheels is pretty good and 19" with Magneride is probably the best combination. The Prestige and Pure both have the same suspension settings so don't worry if the dealer hasn't got a Pure. Only thing to watch for is that the Prestige doesn't have the optional adaptive dynamics which includes the Magneride.
It is also worth trying an AD / Magneride car.

Thanks for the welcome! Thats great to know that they will do an extended test drive. Would love to try one out in most of the environments I will take it, country roads, traffic, motorways etc. Magnaride does sound good too.
I may give my local dealership a rin, see what they say and how long they can let me test drive it for.

Regards

James.

XKjimmy, I have a Pure with the 19 inch wheel, without Magnaride. I would say that the ride is excellent. In Australia our roads tend to be a lot rougher and patchy than Europe. I think you might be surprised how good the ride is with the 19 inch wheels. I think the 19 inch suit the car the best, they fill the arches just nicely.

Again, not the best, but gives you an idea. It's on a OG pure, same as above

Hi and welcome to the forum

I have the 18s too and have been very happy with the ride, and you also have a bit more tyre height to keep away from those high kerbs.

I would have loved the bigger wheels but budget ran out, for now I am very happy, car still feels taut, i put this down to the excellent design of the suspension as a compromise between ride quality and comfort against body control,

I think Tims advice and comments are very valid, whichever you choose I am sure you will be happy

Thanks Westy, great to know that.
