AUS vs US Spec Si4 - mnd - 01-03-2012 02:03am Hey all, anybody know why the US claim a 0-100 of 7.1 and in Aus we claim 7.6 ? Yes i know 60mph is not exactly 100kmh, it's 97kmh, but it doesn't equate to another 0.5 seconds. I believe power output and torque are quoted as the same figure. (once converted to KW from HP) Any ideas? RE: AUS vs US Spec Si4 - chiggy - 01-03-2012 03:08am exchange rate.. ahhahahaahahah! or cause the US think they're better? tends to happen a lot (jokes.. please don't take offence and ban me) RE: AUS vs US Spec Si4 - sethor - 01-03-2012 03:34am An extra gear change could explain the 0.5sec time to go from 97Km/h to 100Km/h. Could be, can't remember When the 2nd to 3rd change happens. RE: AUS vs US Spec Si4 - Barneyridge - 01-03-2012 04:26am (01-03-2012 03:08am)chiggy Wrote: exchange rate.. RE: AUS vs US Spec Si4 - Hers - 25-03-2012 08:10am Maybe different engine tunes to cater for their local markets (quality of fuel, emissions requirements, consumption targets etc)? Just a guess RE: AUS vs US Spec Si4 - barks - 25-03-2012 10:21pm 0 - 100kmh = 0 - 62mph, stands to reason 0 - 60mph will be quicker RE: AUS vs US Spec Si4 - sethor - 26-03-2012 03:36am JLR Australia or whoever set the 0-100km/h times must have been conservative as Wheels magazine managed 7.0 seconds in Dynamic Si4 Coupe. |
