How to dock an iPhone in an accesible place - puchanix - 19-01-2012 02:09am

Hello Everyone,

Expecting delivery of my Dynamic in a couple of weeks and wondering where I will put my iPhone while driving. I want it handy so that I can control Pandora, etc. So I don't want it inside the center console where the USB connector is. Has anyone found a good place to put an iPhone? I was thinking that I could get one of the docking stations made for cup-holders and put it there but I am wondering how I will run the USB cable from there to the connector inside the center console. Is there a hole of some sort between the center console and the cup holders area? When the center console is closed, is there some other space for the USB cable to go out?

Thank you.

Cheers,

P.

There is a gap in the center for the cable to move. The latch divides up the left side and right side. Hope that helps

I put my iPhone in the cup holder and draw the sliding cover across but don't use any cables when it is there

You can control Pandora from the main display once your phone is paired via bluetooth which is wireless.

Not sure if the sound quality will become better if the phone is wired with USB. (please verify if someone know )

In addition to playing Pandora radio in the background, if you also need to *see* the phone, you can consider this: http://babyrr.com/forum/Thread-Brodit-ProClip-for-Evoque

Although it is a very nice feature indeed, I wouldn't bet on Apple not changing the design of the phone in the years to come. I hope you guys come up with something nice before I get my car Smile

Can you really control Pandora? Will have try that one out. Any other non-iPod music programs can be controlled?

I do the same as Tim, however to overcome the Apple v5 software problems I also have an iPod running IOS 4 hard wired for music, which I leave in the rear covered box wher the connector is. Should I need to charge my iPhone I just run the cable under the lid to the cup holder section.
