Picked her up!! - But bringing it straight back - mnd - 15-01-2012 11:25pm Picked up my lovely new Si4 Pure which is optioned to the hills. On the test drive to ensure everything was fine, i noticed a very annoying fan/electrical noise coming from behnd the dash. The dealer confirmed it's either something touching the internal cooling fan or a faulty fan. Doesn't change with heater or radio or car on/off. Very annoying and loud. Anyway, we took the car because there was a chance it would dissapear but i did about 200kms on the weekend and it's still there. Will need to bring her back ![]() Besides that, very impressed with everything else. Ride and handling are excellent and the Si4 is rather zippy. I've reviewed many car (as a part-time job - including for top gear) and i've got to say overall I'm fairly impressed. Only other issue i found was i can't seem to copy CDs to the interal storage. I've got NAV and my assumption was this included storage but when i choose Internal storage, the 'copy' button is greyed out ?? Can't figure that one out. btw. What did people hear from their dealers in regards to running/breaking their car in? Looking forward to many happy motoring years in my new Evoque ![]() RE: Picked her up!! - But bringing it straight back - Daigriff - 15-01-2012 11:38pm No running in required from what I was told. RE: Picked her up!! - But bringing it straight back - MPK - 16-01-2012 01:02am Congrats mnd! Sorry to hear about the little issue but i am sure LR will get to the bottom of it quickly! I'll also make sure to listen to any abnormal noise on my test drive prior to pick-up. Curious to know how long the hand-over process is? RE: Picked her up!! - But bringing it straight back - Aussievoque - 16-01-2012 12:10pm Well done! Good to see a few start coming through. With regard to the "running in" my salesman also said it was unnecessary. Hope the fan fault is a one off! RE: Picked her up!! - But bringing it straight back - lngrn36 - 16-01-2012 02:10pm No "break-in" procedure here in the states. "Drive it like you stole it!" Thanks for the congrats all ![]() Dealer experience was very good. Plenty of test drives and very apologetic about the noise and followied up yesterday to see how we were enjoying the car and if the noise had stopped. No free goodies but this was not an order so they discounted significantly. Very highly optioned so more expensive Pure's wouldn't be walking out the door so they were prepared to negotiate significantly. All in all, a good experience. Now that everybody is saying there is no break-in.......i may start to enjoy it even more! |
