Solar Attenuating Glasses & GPS Signal Inteference - Evoquer - 12-01-2012 04:59am For those who have solar attenuating glasses, do you get the satellite GPS signals well to your portable devices (such as Garmin, TomTom, iPhone, iPad, Androids, etc)? RE: Solar Attenuating Glasses & GPS Signal Inteference - XFullFatTim - 14-01-2012 05:01am My father had this problem with a different make of car and used a remote antena on the rear window linked by bluetooth to his PDA RE: Solar Attenuating Glasses & GPS Signal Inteference - exigejoe - 14-01-2012 06:22am Its pretty bad but if you put it at the very top corner on the driver side it works. RE: Solar Attenuating Glasses & GPS Signal Inteference - mbs9 - 14-01-2012 06:12pm I found that the glass interferes with Fast Lane transponders for USA toll booths, too. In fact, just yesterday I had to trade in my interior mounted transponder for an exterior mounted one because no matter where inside the RRE I mounted the interior transponder it wouldn't work. RE: Solar Attenuating Glasses & GPS Signal Inteference - exigejoe - 14-01-2012 07:49pm I find the garage door opener on the home link doesnt work as well. I have to be literally at my driveway and keeeping pressing the buttons to open the garage door. Whereas my cx9 homelink i can be a block away andit would open no problem. Solar Attenuating Glasses & GPS Signal Inteference - Evoquer - 14-01-2012 08:16pm If the solar attenuating glass is causing these problems, they should remove it from the standard feature list of US/Canada models and let customers add it with no additional cost (just like panoramic roof) . Better yet, just remove it and lower down price for that much. In Seattle, we get average 48 sunny days in a year, we need SOLAR INTENSIFYING GLASSES!!! What does the exterior transponder look like? Where does it get mounted? I've found that my interior unit works intermittently (strangely in certain toll lanes I find it always works, but in most cases never), and Fast Lane has contacted me and asked that I stop using it or exchange with an exterior unit. |
