That is a fantastic price seeing as a replacement Conti 20" is £300+ in some tyre places round here

Just had a quick look again and £176.23 with etyres I am sure they were similar with a few others, I was tempted to buy some and sling them in the shed!

Event tyres £170.25 if buying 4, so so cheap for a premium tyre, They must be on offer or something

There are a number of places selling P Zeros for about 170 quid which is very reasonable for the size.

However, my experience with P Zeros on our Volvo C70 is that they were truly dire in the snow (lost of longitudunal grooves with few side grooves) and it may be that these are mainly aimed for summer use rather than all year round.

I would inquire before blindly purchasing as it would be a shame to hamstring the Evoque's winter performance with poor tyres. Having said that, if you don't get snow where you live, go for it.

Cheers

Whatever Tyres you get on the 20" wheels will be crap in the snow as from my knowledge they are all summer tyres, even the Michelins we have on ours are about as much use as a chocolate tea pot for winter, thats why we kept our 19" style 5's for the winterVery Happy

Can you get Vredesteins to fit the Evoque?

Interesting little thing with the start/stop today, parked up waiting to pick someone up and the start/stop didn't stop. I thought that's a shame as was going to sit only for a minute or two, so down with the clutch and up and still didn't stop, then down with the clutch select 1st, neutral and release clutch and the engine stopped.

My passenger door mirror was frozen in this morning and did not come out when I unlocked the car. Went round and it was loose and floppy to move by hand, got me a bit worried Sad As by then the engine was running I used the 2 button method to bring the mirrors back in, and then bring them out again and then it opened and was tight again Smile and seems to have survived ok.

Phil.

Get some WD40 and spray the base, I did the same on my Merc, it seemed to help.

WD = Water Dispersant, 40 = formulation No40, developed for NASA http://www.wd40.com/about-us/history/
So spray it the night before and with luck there will be nothing in there to freeze up. Do not be overzealous with the application though as it can mark your paintwork
