Restricted performance - Zs_phil - 06-05-2017 09:04am

Hi all
Last night I had restricted performance come up on the dash
I've had a search on google and a few have mentioned the dpf sensor is this an expensive job or one someone could do at home
Got mot due as well and just bought 2 new tyres
Thanks phil

Got the torque app and have 2 codes come up
P0405 and p0403

Which could be the egr valve according to Google

Which model of Evoque and which model year? EGR failures seem to be very rare on the Evoque (so far I cannot recall reading of any other posts on here). You could try contacting forum sponsor BAS who are used to fixing EGR issues on other Land Rover products and have blanking kits for them but I suspect your car might be too new to legally remove the EGR and kit and blank it off....... Pete at BAS will be able to tell you if you phone him, he will also tell you what the fault codes are. Pete Bell is here https://bellautoservices.co.uk

Thanks for that
It's a 2013 sd4 dynamic
Going to try and remove them today and just clean them out and refit worth a try if they are accessible

My local main dealer told me it's a common fault and would cost £850 +vat to fix the egr

I agree with Tim, can't ever remember anyone needing a EGR specially when they asking over £1k for a replacement unit Shocked

Just going by what Hatfields say but most owners of these cars don't come on forums, something goes wrong with the car and majority of people just get it repaired without googling or asking

Is your car still in warranty? If not I would suggest that you contact the LR specialists - for a start their labour rates are a fraction of main dealer rates and often they are doing these jobs day in day out unlike the main dealers. Get a quote from a specialist and then ask the main dealer to match, but do shop around.

Yes I've contacted some local ones and they suggest I take it out on a motorway first and get upto speed and see if it clears on its own
They also only charge £25 for a diagnostic check which is £100 cheaper than Hatfields so will be a lot cheaper by them anyways
They also said there is just 1 egr valve I thought there was 2
