Ingenium service - bigmac3161 - 25-02-2017 12:03am

So even though the service intervals are 2years I got a service required message up after 12 months. So booked in went today it's because I'm doing low miles and short journeys. Got to dealership and they explained why it came up. Cut long storey short they did oil and filter change under warranty no cost. So if ur doing low town mileage and get service message before 2 years you shouldn't be paying for oil change and new oil filter and it'll be covered under warranty so they said anyway. Just in case some unscrupulous sorts try fleecing you out pf a few bob not that they would of courseSmile

Why don't LR have variable service intervals based on useage, driving style, etc. like some other manufacturers? My Merc. has variable intervals generated by the system and my ultra-low mileage means that it rarely requires a service. Given that service costs are also a lot cheaper than LR as well, it saves a fortune.

What was your low mileage when this came up?

Ingenium service - bigmac3161 - 26-02-2017 08:22pm

The original alarm was service required in 800 miles which came up at 4000 odd miles. Now I was thinking that'll take me about 6 weeks wrong inside 2days and about 50 odd miles it stated service now due. When I rand dealership they said it'll be the yearly oil service that's due which had me scratching my head. Anyway all was explained at dealers. Cause I'd went in ready to start a row as I'd originally took up the service plan only for sales man to advise me as the car was on 2 year intervals. And me only on 4year pcp that it'd cost less to pay for 1 service than take up the service plan.

Same happened to us, 13 months and 8500 miles, just before Christmas. The engine management light lit up too, in fact the dash was seasonally lit up at the time, the engine management light, service warning, low windscreen washer, low coolant and AdBlue low. Topped up coolant self, consulted LR about rest, assured OK to use. Oil change under warranty, AdBlue topped up and now dash back to its calm self. Was concerned about coolant, they said it was known of possible coolant loss. Wife collected it and was told coolant level was OK, so unsure if they investigated, am monitoring level.
With ref oil will be interesting to see what happens at 2 and 3 year age

It'll be the Ingenium engine then with the adblue. All 2.0 diesel Evoques are Ingenium. They have been fitted since late 2015 when the MY16 model came out. Up until 2015 they came with the older 2.2 diesel engine.
