Headlights - mjab - 18-02-2017 02:48pm Right front headlight blown and the other half goes to Halfords for a new bulb Been told its going to cost about £90 and has to be done by the dealer 2013 Pure Tech pack but I have a feeling they may be Xenons Any ideas welcome thanks RE: Headlights - XFullFatTim - 18-02-2017 03:22pm The way to tell if you have halogens or Zenons is the LED DRL ring - if it is the BiXenon system then you will have the very stylised DRL's if Halogens then it is a much dimmer yellower DRL Unless of course you have retro fitted the Signature BiXenons! RE: Headlights - mjab - 18-02-2017 03:39pm I have the old style DRL's, I know that, car is as I got it. I did have the topix list but I had to buy a new PC and doesn't look as though I have the file now Just downloaded the owners manual and it seems you have to undo bolts on the front grille and move the filler pipe as well. Jeepers I hope this doesn't happen too often RE: Headlights - PhilSkill - 19-02-2017 12:07am The headlight units slide forward a couple of cm for access, there's a lever to lift after undoing the obvious bolt. But you have DRLs so you should have Xenon lights. I've had a Xenon go, and whilst it may be the bulb £90, it's more likely the Ballast unit and a dealer will supply and fit a whole headlamp unit!!! See my thread how to repair... http://babyrr.com/forum/Thread-Xenon-Headlight-Repair RE: Headlights - mjab - 19-02-2017 12:16pm (19-02-2017 12:07am)PhilSkill Wrote: The headlight units slide forward a couple of cm for access, there's a lever to lift after undoing the obvious bolt. Thanks, you've made me feel a whole lot better RE: Headlights - XFullFatTim - 19-02-2017 02:26pm Have you tried asking a dealer if they can replace it under warranty, on a good will basis? Car was bought second hand last year but not from a Land Rover Dealer. Local dealer has never seen the car so probably not much hope. I'm going to ring the independent guy its going to tomorrow to see what he has to say. Its MOT is due in 8 days so one way or another its going to get done RE: Headlights - mjab - 23-02-2017 06:11pm (19-02-2017 04:25pm)mjab Wrote: Car was bought second hand last year but not from a Land Rover Dealer. Bad news was I needed new discs and pads on the front and gearbox oil was changer so I had a hefty £785 bill of which nearly £130 and the most expensive was the VAT : |
