Active Driveline - Good shot - 04-07-2016 09:37pm
After test driving a disco sport and f pace today - as a replacement for current Evoque - decided I liked the current Evoque better!
However, I do need to change so started speccing up a new a Evoque! I'll go for the SE Tech with quite a few options. Anyone experience of Active Driveline? A £675 option claims to switch seamlessly between 2 & 4 wheel drive. Expect some considerable mpg improvement with that? £675's worth?

People I know who have the petrol engined pre2016 cars (where is was standard fit) with it say it works well and yes running in 2WD above 23mph helps with fuel consumption BUT they all have said that if the slightest slippage is detected the car does revert to 4WD and that happens a lot on damp roads and in rain with consequential increased fuel consumption. £675 is a lot of fuel to have to save to make it pay back and I'm sure that it will not count for anything when you want to sell the car in 3 or 4 years time.

If you intend to own the car a long time, i'd consider the option, if you only keep it a year or two.. probably not worth the expense, as Tim says I doubt people will notice when you come to trade/sell.

Thanks Tim/Phil. I guess ideally it would have 2 wheel drive lock - but probably not. Is it a new feature for MY2017 or has anyone any experience with it on MY2016 diesel?
I probably look to see what else to spec with the £675!

I would suggest the heated Steering wheel or the upgrade to the 380W Meridan as the 2016MY/2017 reportedly have absolutely crap audio as standard.

Thanks-already specced those. Dealer actually advised against park assist etc - too slow.
