Smoke from Engine - evoqoueHSE - 15-06-2016 03:36am Hi New 2016 HSE TDI Dynamic evoque has developed an intermittent fault were smoke appears from the engine have posted a couple of youtube videos' anyone has this experience or know what it could be? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S34XWJxbZKY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DWqcMdDtMY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6Z7aKyM9pg thanks in advance RE: Smoke from Engine - Steve D - 15-06-2016 06:28am I used to get that on a diesel Golf I had - it was just the DPF going through a forced regeneration and the DPF gets VERY hot. Either that or you have oil leaking onto your exhaust! RE: Smoke from Engine - Koidream - 15-06-2016 07:18am In winter I had this with my VOLVO. It was the preheater's exhaust I don't know if yours is fitted with a preheater and if it is cold enough... RE: Smoke from Engine - XFullFatTim - 15-06-2016 09:49am Have you taken the car and the videos into a dealer for investigation? As a 2016MY it is still under warranty. RE: Smoke from Engine - Koidream - 15-06-2016 11:50am @ Steve D: Canberra -2°c in june... So there is a possibility that preheaters are installed. RE: Smoke from Engine - PhilSkill - 15-06-2016 12:08pm I had some puffs of smoke, 1 came into the cabin too the first couple of regenerations that were done, Scared the shxt out of me as had been driving quite hard then came to a stop and saw smoke drifting in the cabin, till I realised it was probably the DPF. If it does it more than a few times I'd get it checked though incase it's something burning/leaking on the exhaust. RE: Smoke from Engine - Mark^^ - 15-06-2016 01:02pm I live near and work in Canberra, never heard of the need for a preheater and don't think we have them here in Oz. Never heard it getting below - 11 or -12 down this way. RE: Smoke from Engine - Steve D - 15-06-2016 03:37pm Maybe its the pre-cooler! |
