The only thing I would change is the thickness of the 3m tape I used it has caused a slight gap around the edge of the vent but you can get thinner tape, I received the tape as a gift and did not want to buy some. If any one is interested I have one bonnet vent spare which I dropped and marked the paint if you are going for black or a different colour it can be painted or leave it the colour Atlas and live with mark, It is all ready to be fitted so you can copy for the second vent. I can send pictures of the mark on the vent open to offers was £86. RE: Bonnet Vents - Rein - 16-09-2013 06:52pm I bought the vents from Jai as he sold his evoque before he could fit them. Could someone please measure the distance from the edges of the vent to the edge of the bonnet (wiper side) and to the fold in the bonnet as shown with the yellow tape on my picture below? Thanks Bonnet Vents - MarkA_ - 16-09-2013 08:46pm What is being vents by these vents? RE: Bonnet Vents - XFullFatTim - 16-09-2013 09:28pm Nothing! Even on the Coupe the car doesn't need vents (if it did then the same engined 5 door versions would also have vents fitted!) If you have a Coupe there is a hole under them, but on 5 door models you either have to stick them on or buy a coupe bonnet if you want "vents" and the replacement bonnet option is about £1000........ They are there to allow water to drain into the top of the engine mount which then overflows onto the auxiliary drive belt which then makes a terribly embarrassing screeching noise on startup. I don't know, the things these car designers come up with. I would never have thought of such a feature RE: Bonnet Vents - recordman - 17-09-2013 02:44pm Come on you guys with coupes, someone please help Rein with the dimensions he needs! RE: Bonnet Vents - Shenley - 17-09-2013 03:18pm Used a tape measure..... in the rain. Top bit at the centre of the range rover logo:- Towards the windscreen wiper (RHD drivers side) - tape measure is along the inner section of the vent:- Hope this helps.... its raining harder now! RE: Bonnet Vents - Rein - 17-09-2013 05:14pm Thank you very much Shenley! Close - they are there to let in the rain to put out the fire when the diesel spill rail leaks and we have external combustion ! |
