RE: Evoque's New Big Brother - cjfp - 25-03-2013 04:34pm So, DC is not David Coulthard but is, in fact Daniel Craig - how did we not see that coming !? (and apologies if someone has already posted this info but I couldn't be bothered to check back!) RE: Evoque's New Big Brother - THEMACS - 27-03-2013 10:44pm Autocar have lots of pictures of new RRS and it looks better than the pic in this thread, the grey with black roof in the pics looks Particularly good, with lovely wheels, most of pics are from NY Motorshow along with Press photos RE: Evoque's New Big Brother - XFullFatTim - 27-03-2013 11:25pm Firenze certainly doesn't look as good as Corris Grey, the new colour Chilli looks very similar to the old RRS First Edition colour Vesuvius and suits the car. RE: Evoque's New Big Brother - J77 - 28-03-2013 11:12am I take everything back that I said about the car, when you see it in other colours it looks stunning, the grey looks nice but I also like Loire blue. Had a look at the configurator some nice accessories available, especially the personalised illuminated tread plates and the LED illuminated tread plate for the boot. It's interesting that LR have dropped the low range gears. RE: Evoque's New Big Brother - Crabacle - 28-03-2013 12:48pm Cannot understand people not liking this. Having just left the configurator and spent an imaginary £71,000 I want one. It's everything that the Evoque should be in a grown up car. RE: Evoque's New Big Brother - Crabacle - 28-03-2013 01:31pm Tell me about it (28-03-2013 01:27pm)ChuckieB Wrote: You did well to come away at just the £71k! Yes - having looked again its near £76. I still want one! RE: Evoque's New Big Brother - XFullFatTim - 28-03-2013 02:36pm (28-03-2013 11:12am)J77 Wrote: It's interesting that LR have dropped the low range gears. When you think how many people use the cars to their full potential (ie a tiny tiny number) it makes sense as the additional weight and emissions of having the transfer box increases tax. Makes the cars AWD rather than proper offroad cars but lets face it how many people even engage the low box weekly as recommended in the owners' manual! When people ask me what to look out for when buying any modern Land Rover I aways say a) check the transfer box engages properly, silently and smoothly and b) check it isn't running oversize, ULP non OEM wheels and tyres. Loosing the Low ratios as standard though is reducing the brand to the likes of BMW's X's , Audi's Q's and Volvo XC's - maybe they should have made it a delete option rather than an optional extra at £3900 RE: Evoque's New Big Brother - CSJ - 28-03-2013 04:36pm To me this looks like a natural and sensible progression of the brand. The car looks good and builds on the Evoque. If I wanted a bigger car then to me this looks much more special than an X5, Q5 or Q7. Have played with the configurator I came out at £69k tho! Thats a lot of money but I am sure that there will be plenty of takers. I hope though that they do not have the niggles that the early Evqoues had. I am sure that the RRS will have its detractors (as any car will have as its mostly down to personal taste) but to me this looks like a classy car! RE: Evoque's New Big Brother - J77 - 28-03-2013 07:59pm When I first saw it I thought it was hideous, but then firenze isn't my favourite colour. I think LR are heading in the right direction with this car, it's now more of a competitor to the X5s etc. I just hope the gremlins on the Evoque aren't carried over. It's nice to see that LR have reintroduced the green oval to the grill |
