Hopefully some of the posters in this thread will now have had their build dates come forward if other recent threads are anything to go by.

Oddly enough, after having all my phone calls and emails ignored by my dealer for the last few weeks, I rang LR Customer Services today to see if they could provide any information, and then had a response from my dealer less than an hour later. Strange coincidence that... Wink

At least I've now got a copy of my Vista entry showing a build date of 16/11 and a delivery date of 3/12 (my birthday!). Now just got to work out why everyone else's build dates seem to be coming forwards while mine still inches back.

Haha my build date is 2 weeks earlier, but my car will arrive 1 day after hours, according to what the vista says.

The reason for my longer delivery time is the ship cruise that my evoque has to pass Very Happy.

Congrats for a very very nice birthday gift Smile

After postponing more than a month of the original date, now I got the confirmation that the ship will arrive tomorrow (they missed by 2 days). Still have to sort the legal stuff, so expect the car to be handed-over next Friday. Just one more week after 5 1/2 months...
Cheers

Finally there is a slight progress with my order...I think anyway. Very Happy
I heard from the dealer this week my order is on schedule for mid dec delivery but he thinks it could well be early dec instead. I have asked for an exact build date but he doesn't seem to have the answer yet... I asked about adding privacy but I was told it would be too late and the order is on its way now.

Any ideas when I will get a build date?

I have a car I need to sell ASAP but I can't sell not knowing what the build date is because I need a car over Xmas. Not sure how easy it will be sell (mini one 1.6) during the festive period and I don't want to part exchange because they gave me a rubbish price a few months ago.

Any advice/suggestion would be great guys!

Hey first of all it is a very unusual to get an expected delivery date, without beeing able to tell you the build date,

It is like knowing when the baby gets born, without knowing the date of women's pregnancy. So this makes no sense at all, according to my understanding.

If its an mid december delivery, it is propably an late November Build Date, if its an early December delivery date, it is propably an mid November build date.

I would try to sell the Mini as soon as possible, and get a Ford Mondeo etc. for the rest of the time( there are a lot of fords for about 800 pounds) and they get bought and sold very fast and smooth.

Maybe you will get even a 100 pound extra when selling the car, but for sure you won't have to waste money for it.

B.R.

TulaBB, go along to your Land Rover dealer and ask them if they can let you have a car to use if you sell yours before delivery. Quite a few people on the forum have asked and received. One thing for sure, over the Xmas Eve - New Year's Eve dealers will not be taking too many orders but they will be trying to prep cars for all who want to have their new car on Jan1. Some folks have been loaned demo cars.

Thanks for both your replies.

Not sure I want the hassle of buying a cheap run around then having to sell it again if I do get it just before xmas now having looked at the dates...worse case scenario is to either hire something for a few days over Xmas or see if the dealers will loan me something cheap that gets me up to Manchester on Boxing Day - 3.5 hours drive.

Another annoying thing is I have a hen do middle of nov...guess I will have to take the train if I manage sell my mini before then.

Need to call the dealer on mon to get my build date now...if its too late to change my order (adding privacy glass) surely there is a build date of some sort....it seems diff dealers work differently?!

I have heard elsewhere that a few Evoque customers have had the builds and deliveries brought forward by a couple of weeks.

Could be the 24hr working is kicking in.

To be honest I've given up trying to apply any reasoning to waiting lists, even during the last month where loads of people's builds have been coming forward by several weeks, mine has still slipped further back. I think there's so many different variables that affect build date (model, colour, spec) that it's impossible to use other people's experience to predict your build date.

Crikey guys, all these long waits are unbelievable. I'm in Australia, we were told 3 months and that car arrived the exact week it was supposed to. Surprising I know! My condolences to you all. Waiting is a bugger.
