RE: Some Rumours need Resolving - XFullFatTim - 20-10-2012 01:55pm No the reason is neither of those - it is because there are some markets where the diesels are not sold and LR is fullfilling orders for those markets rather than trying to shift a slow seller in the UK. I haven't heard any Si4 owners in the UK reporting engine problems in the rain, can you enlighten us? RE: Some Rumours need Resolving - Shenley - 20-10-2012 02:16pm I had scheduled today to be giving my wife's new car a good polishing (or detailing as it is now known) - but that didn't happen (see posts elsewhere). So I was bored this morning as too foggy to do much else. Anyway here is the Si4 link problem from another site in the USA. http://www.evoqueforums.net/forum/evoque-maintenance/496-my-engine-problem-will-become-technical-service-bulletin.html Don't forget the weather in the US is 'bigger and better' than ours. These are of course as the title of this post states - rumours RE: Some Rumours need Resolving - XFullFatTim - 20-10-2012 03:20pm Thank goodness diesels don't have spark ignition! RE: Some Rumours need Resolving - The Valeter - 21-10-2012 02:35pm my Si4 is fine in the rain. RE: Some Rumours need Resolving - Ryo - 22-10-2012 11:49am Wow, when this is really going to happen, I won't ordering an Evoque in January if the price is up 1 buck. I don't see the need for an SD4 and I would be happy with the TD4. This is smelly, and I started to look for alternatives again. I hope this won't happen. ![]() RE: Some Rumours need Resolving - XFullFatTim - 22-10-2012 01:32pm RYO it is only in the UK (at the moment) that TD4 is apparrently being withdrawn - you may still be able to order one in Europe where they are a bigger seller and may not have the eD4 option. Thanks XFullFatTim, I hope you're right. We have the eD4 option here, so I'm afraid this illogical move could happen. This really made a "disturbance in the force" for me. I would offer more options. A downsized petrol would be good, too. With the Euro5 Diesel, we will have headaches here after 2014. I think this will cost a lot of money. And many people wished for more powerful engines, too. Some even ask for Hybrid and LPG. So I find this quite irritating. RE: Some Rumours need Resolving - PhilSkill - 22-10-2012 04:25pm So what are the reasons to withdraw an option since it's now in production...? Is it just temporary? Shortage of TD4 engines...? Thoughts that a Range Rover should always have the bigger engine...? Leave the TD4 for the FL? Too many options eD4, TD4, SD4...? Too confusing that TD4 and SD4 have identical efficiency figures... I wonder how many TD4's have sold against SD4's? Seems strange since the worlds supposed to be going greener... RE: Some Rumours need Resolving - XFullFatTim - 22-10-2012 04:59pm You should see the panic over on FullFatRR........................... there is a rumour that FFRR might get an eDv6 2WD option. It was confirmed as being "under discussuion" by somebody at the factory apparently. They are like we were here - how embarrassing will it be to see FFRR's stuck in the snow when it should be able to handle it no problem! I haven't told them over there that eD4 is reckoned by the motoring press to be very capable offroad for a 2WD car. RE: Some Rumours need Resolving - PhilSkill - 22-10-2012 08:35pm Yes, I can imagine that causing outrage with the die hards! |
