It was interesting to watch. ANyway the RRS was better in the snowy conditions, as expected, but at the end one of the reviewers said that the Evoque was basically a Front Wheel Drive car and used some electronics to send drive to the back as opposed to being a proper 4wd vehicle Not sure about that and I am not suitably informed to know one way or another! If I wanted 30 year old technology in a "proper" 4x4 I would still have my 1980 Jeep CJ-5. I've owned more 4x4's than most people own total vehicles. I can tell you from experience that a FWD car will go further in the sand than a RWD if using only two driven wheels. That translates into a very good off road use if only using the front wheels to pull the vehicle. It only gets better if you remember that the RRE uses ALL four wheels! RE: Is The Evoque a 'Proper' 4x4? - Asty - 18-02-2012 11:28am Just catching up on this thread so will add my 2p. The first thing the salesman told me in the showroom was that while the Evoque has electronic four wheel drive, it is still permanent four wheel drive. My MKII TT had the version where rear wheels only drive when traction requires it and needed a mod to convert to permanent 4x4.
