I like it. With the power of hindsight had this been out three years ago it would more likely be the car now sitting on my drive. The additional stowage capacity would override most other things! Having said that having had the Evoque for the time I have there are somethings I would be reluctant to give up.
The 5+2 seat must take up some additional space and the brochure is showing a flat load space so I think this must be an option rather than standard. The detachable tow bar option suggests this.
One thing is a shame and that it also looks to have lost the command driving position that FL drivers will have become used to.

5+2 seating standard on all UK models, they fold flat into the boot as per it's bigger brother.
I'm currently looking at an HSE 9 speed auto, it has more than enough kit for me xenons, pano roof, leather etc. Nice to see power tailgate standard on all but entry level. I went a bit daft with options adding things that I don't need like WiFi. So a straight out of the wrapper HSE will do me.
All cars have autonomous braking and pedestrian airbag as standard.

Taking a look at the boot space in the brochure, they'll be doing well to get 5+2 and a space saver in. It shows a flat single piece cover just like the Evoque.
However, I am more than happy to be proved wrong! Storage space seats up is over 400 litres more than the 575 in the Evoque! The benefits are less obvious with the seats forward, I they slide rather forward than folding like the do in the Evoque

I really enjoy our Evoque but do find it a little small particularly the luggage area, it doesn't work for 4 people on a two week holiday. The Disco sport looks just the car for me although not until the new engines appear. Hopefully there will be a reasonably economic petrol engine in the range, say mid 30s mpg, and then the clunky diesel won't be needed.

Autocar magazine's write up this week says the Ingenium engine for DS will be a 2.0ltr TD. Hope it has a huge power output and mega torque to haul up to 5 adults and two small children!

Well, its not perfet. But i have still placed an order today for a HSE. It will be my next jump up to the new disco i a couple of years.
I having beening thinking about the RRS but just can't justify the 60k price

If Freelander2 to DS have followed the usual predictable steep price hikes that LR impose on new models then I dread to think how much a Disco5 is going to cost. Starting price around £50000 anybody? As one of LR's traditional buyers I am rapidly being priced out of the new car market, my salary is going down every year as I don't get above inflation rises and not up in line with Land Rover's price hikes.

All UK cars have 5+2 seating as standard, the car has a redesigned rear axle to take the spare wheel plus the 2 seats.
The second row fold over but don't go flat.
The predicted used values of the DS have made it cheaper for me each month hence HSE spec for me.
It's got multi link rear suspension.
The sat nav is a lot quicker than the current system and the graphics look a lot better.

Landrover are now as we know having family's of cars as in Range Rover and the new Discovery range so I am a little miffed as to why this new Landrover model looks so similar to Range Rover? I know they are building it on the success of the Evoque but you would have thought it would have a character of it's own!
Why oh why have they got the antique Freelander engine? I thought when these came out they were supposed to have the new engines?

The SD4 engine will do me, I know what I'm getting.
