Called them and they said they only deal with Michelin. Tried event tyres and they re quoting £212. There are three I've found just a shade under £200 : Tyrefitdirect.co.uk (mobile fitted) Asda (local garage fitted) tyretraders.com. (Mobile or garage fitted) Anyone had experience of any of these guys in the past? RE: Flat tyre!:( - WB - 15-03-2013 02:29pm have you tried blackcircles.com or e-tyres.com? I've used Event tyres a few times over the years and have noticed that the fitters are older guys who respect decent alloys and fit tyres carefully. I have also found them to be the cheapest on quotes, but looking at your quotes there is not much difference on price, however they do turn up on time and do a decent job.. ![]() Flat tyre!:( - Teetree - 15-03-2013 02:54pm (15-03-2013 02:29pm)WB Wrote: have you tried blackcircles.com or e-tyres.com? Actually I do beg your pardon, black circles quoted £198.06 so that's pretty good. Especially if you ve had good experience with these guys in the past WB? Also you get double tesco club card points so the wife will be pleased. So win win! ![]() I've also heard good things about event tyres online too as well as on this forum. So yes paying another £14 isn't a problem if the work is done well. The only slight issue I have is my tyre is 235/55 R19 105V continental cross contact XL UHP "E" . It's this "e" part that confuses me as I've seen identical tyres listed and one has E on an seems to have fuel efficiency of B where as the other without an E has rating of E. does that sound about right? RE: Flat tyre!:( - coetzejg - 15-03-2013 05:17pm There seems to be good wear on that tyre, so you'd probably have to go for two. I had the same problem, same 19inch rims. Those Continental Cross contacts are not great tyres overall, I changed over to General Grabber All Terrain 255-50/19. That size works on that rim. RE: Flat tyre!:( - WB - 15-03-2013 05:28pm I've had good experience with e-tyres and friends have used blackcircles but they both subcontract to local fitters so it could be pot luck on who you get. Sounds like Event are consistent though. Always worth telling the tyre fitter you care about your alloys and watch him do the job to ensure he checks for damage before he starts and you both agree any marks.
