I bought the spare for £120 when ordering the car. I was not going to do so as I had kept my spare from my Freelander 2 when I sold it but like a d*** I forgot to keep the toolkit (assuming it had one as I don't remember it lol) then saw a post on here when someone bought the toolkit for about £170+
Result was I sold my FL2 new wheel on Ebay for £104 then ordered the wheel & toolkit from LR for £120

I would have thought that a spare would be standard everywhere. Here in australia every car comes with a spare.
What is LR doing trying to option out every little thing?? Will the front windscreen be an option on the next evoque?

Its a bit like cheap airlines, you only pay for the bits you want. thats providing that you know and understand what you want in the first place.
Looks like the roof will be optional on the next Evoque model to be released

A bit of balence please; to be fair to LR all manufacturers are doing this as a way of decreasing the kerb weight in a bid to eak out every bit of CO2 reduction.
I know the foams don't work if you don't spot a flat in time and the tyre gets shredded or ripped, but are perfect say of you run over a nail and get a slow puncture. Also note that when the tyre has been foamed it can't be repaired even of it were normally repairable as the foam solidifies inside the tyre. A few years ago when I had a 530d with runflats BMW were clear that you shouldn't tow a trailer with a foamed tyre due to the extra weight!
I suppose its a game of risk; how often have you had a punctutre (rhetorical question) but we all know when you do it's on a Sunday afternoon and you can't get it sorted for a while after.
Yes the lack of a spare is a flaw but one that is going to become more common I suspect.

Guess what I will be buying.

I'd advise everyone to get a spare as opposed to the injection kit, which doesn't really work, ruins the tyre and is tricky to administer. Had this issue on my wifes Audi A1 - now have a spare.
First extra I ordered on mine. Pic here too

The message is clear and I, among others, have been saying it for months: specify the spare wheel option.
I agree the jack is poor and it's on my to-do list to find a better alternative.

My local tyre specialist in Bolton will do it so I am sure others will
