Do dealers do menu priced servicing or is it a case of waving a wet finger in the air and charging what they think they can get away with? Mark, on the 3 FLs I have owned the servicing was a fixed price at LR dealers, circa £400 each time (per year or 15k miles) only deal I ever got was a 10% discount for belonging to the Freelander Club (now defunct). You take your chance going outside the network, a friend gets his FL1 TD4 serviced at half that price at a local garage but its now having problems. They only change oil, oil filter and air filter, I belive there are various other filters that should be changed and can give rise to problems later if ignored. I live around 125 miles from my nearest LR dealer but mine will be going back for every service, I would not trust any of the local indepedants, they do not have the equipment to read the 'black box' anyway. I could do a better job myself with a Haynes manual. Tony RE: Service package. - ED209 - 21-10-2011 01:28pm £400 for a basic service? maybe cancelling and getting an xc60 might be a good idea afterall if its £300 for 3 years servicing RE: Service package. - J77 - 21-10-2011 01:41pm £400 for a first year service, first year service for my last freelander was only about £280. I have a service plan with the freelander, which i started after my first freelanders first service,it may be a bit more expensive (£25 monthly) but for me I prefer it, also it is transferable to my evoque so will be cheaper still as I have money already in the pot. RE: Service package. - DynamicRRV - 21-10-2011 03:00pm My first FFRR in 2004 was £500 for the VIP pack which was three years FREE servicing inc brakes, discs and wiper blades!BARGAIN! Now that's more like it........ RE: Service package. - XFullFatTim - 21-10-2011 04:36pm Yes I had that as well on my TD6, I believe LR stopped it because it was costing them a fortune over and above warranty stuff - could it be a case of once bitten ............? We are making progress I'm over the sticker shock of the servicing costs for LR after a good old moan on a prior thread lamenting the fact that the three year Audi care servicing plan was $750 and thrown into my last deal. Ooooh, if only the TTS had satisfied me RE: Service package. - ytshome - 21-10-2011 10:23pm (21-10-2011 09:19pm)Evoqess Wrote:(21-10-2011 01:28pm)ED209 Wrote: £400 for a basic service? maybe cancelling and getting an xc60 might be a good idea afterall if its £300 for 3 years servicing The Evoque is "Satisfaction Guaranteed" |
