Vehicle Handover - DDX - 24-09-2011 06:10pm As far as im aware, keyless entry still comes with the same fob so you can still un/lock the car by remote from a distance RE: Vehicle Handover - XFullFatTim - 24-09-2011 06:52pm Yes can confirm DDX's reply, all that keyless entry gives you over the standard fob is that if you are within 1m of the car you just have to open the door without pressing any buttons.............. well thats the theory if you have nothing metallic in the pocket that the fob is in! You can also lock the car using it by touching the marking on the door lever RE: Vehicle Handover - Tekno - 24-09-2011 08:28pm Oh bugger. Kind of wish I had gone for it then. RE: Vehicle Handover - Evoqess - 26-09-2011 03:45am I would also recommend wearing foil undergarments if you keep the keyless entry fob in your pants. Surely those wireless signals are constantly bombarding eveything around them and nether region protection is a must RE: Vehicle Handover - Big G - 26-09-2011 12:19pm (24-09-2011 12:00pm)XFullFatTim Wrote: Not personal experience - The Evoque is the first car I have had with keyless entry but the second I have had with a starter button. For those who haven't had such a system before here are some tips! Ditto with the stop/start technology. We have an Audi with it and quite often the stop/start will start up randomly. Thought this was a fault, but the dealer said it was designed to do that if the radio was on or the A/C was running, to protect the battery from draining (DOH !). Same happened when I took the Evoque for a test drive. Anyway I didn't know this to begin with - so hopefully other eejits like me will get some benefit from this info !! RE: Vehicle Handover - ant - 26-09-2011 08:24pm According to Land Rover, the handover of the Evoque from dealer to customer is supposed to take 6 hours!!!!! There must be a lot to learn.???? RE: Vehicle Handover - XFullFatTim - 26-09-2011 09:39pm This is a door handle, if you have keyless entry.......................... here is the button to open the boot, there is also one on the tailgate but if you have keyless entry.................. if they leave the engine running all that time so the battery doesn't go flat make sure the tank has some fuel in it for when you want to drive your new toy home!
