RE: My Fuji Dynamic SD4 Manual - PhilSkill - 18-05-2015 08:43pm Used my Evoque to jump my other car as it's battery had died, I'd noted how others had lost the battery cover clips so took care, but found them quite easy to do. I did RTFM as didn't want to damage the Evoque, Noted in the Handbook to use the earthing point by the washer bottle rater then the negative terminal, which is easier to get onto anyway. Also Noticed I have the Fibreglass Mat Battery in my Evoque, totally maintenance free, as the handbook says some are fitted with Standard Batteries, maybe this applies to Petrol versions. Easily done, got the other car started, proved it was a dead Battery so a trip to Halfords and £140 pounds lighter 1 1/2 hours work to change as completely inaccessible and my other car back on the road But dread to think what a Battery in the Evoque would cost! As I've been running around in my Evoque doing the "shopping" runs with the other car not starting, noticed my MPG is the worst since the first fill ever, and the slowest Average speed too! a mere 32 mpg at 23 mph Average! RE: My Fuji Dynamic SD4 Manual - PhilSkill - 16-07-2015 09:52pm Had a Major Rattle form in the back the other day, after a bit of investigation, found where the dealer had replaced my Tailgate top cover after the original one had come loose and was rattling, they had rather bodged the new one in place! The new one has different fixings but instead of fitting the 4 fixings that were supposed to be present, it looks like they only fitted the 2 outside ones and used silicon sealant to fix the centre 2 fixings! Unsurprisingly this came adrift a year later and the panel was just sitting loose in the top tailgate recess So I took it off cleaned it up, got 2 grommets to replace the missing ones never fitted, and hey presto a repair done properly! RE: My Fuji Dynamic SD4 Manual - XFullFatTim - 09-09-2015 10:07pm How long before you get the wavy foot under the rear bumper device developed Phil? RE: My Fuji Dynamic SD4 Manual - PhilSkill - 09-09-2015 10:15pm Ha, no don't think i'll bother with that, I have it on my new Merc. I use it more than I thought, but you don't half feel silly when you stand at the back of the car waving your leg side to side under the back of the car and it hasn't detected the key, or it's not in your pocket!! I've had some strange looks! RE: My Fuji Dynamic SD4 Manual - PhilSkill - 16-09-2015 02:19pm Hi Rob, I've sent an e-mail via the forum messaging system, (first time i've used it as an e-mail send), Thank you. RE: My Fuji Dynamic SD4 Manual - RobLo - 03-11-2015 02:20pm Hi PhilSkill, Just fitted your unit. Works exactly as you said. Took 15 mins to fit, very straight forward, apart from peeling the backing from the sticky tape RE: My Fuji Dynamic SD4 Manual - PhilSkill - 03-11-2015 03:23pm RE: My Fuji Dynamic SD4 Manual - PhilSkill - 24-01-2016 05:04pm Not been using the Evoque very much recently, and had a rear Caliper seize on me last week, started getting terrible squealing while driving which stopped when braking, Took the Caliper off (using brake service mode) and pushed the piston back, freed up the pads too, reassembled and all seems to be fine now. Caliper sliders were in good condition, so think the piston itself got jammed somehow, will be doing pads and Discs this summer as down to 4mm or so and discs have quite a lip on them. Noticed you need a torx to get the disc off, any ideas what size this is, as I will have to buy one, I think (Answer I believe is T50, bought an impact Driver with T45 -T60 bits included) |
