I've used it on the very rare occasion (going on holiday), where I have squeezed the car into our double garage with another car and been unable to open the door.
So I climbed out the window and used global closing to lock it all up again Laughing

So i wonder if its country specific as to wether global closing works or not? I was really disappointed mine didn't have it.
Mines a 2012 and Australian delivered.

All the VWs that I know of recently have global openning AND closing, so seems it's just a LR decision.

Wow. Didn't know of this feature (rolling down the windows). So, before I read the entire thread, I ran out to check it and try to close the windows.
Windows don't close - Damn.

I would have rather they had the ability to close the tailgate from the remote rather than rolling down the windows. Oh well, installed that feature last year.

Now for working on programming in extra keys.
