Interesting to see that the tailgate broke exactly the same way as mine did when I reversed into a safety barrier - designed to self destruct in an accident?

it can probably disperse quite a lot of energy to avoid damaging the main car structure....
unless of course you drop the car off a 60ft flyover

Whoa...lucky to be alive and cant believe he was standing up right after, I've been in less severe dirt bike accidents and it does take a while to regain your equilibrium...looks like there was a passenger as well who was unhurt...what a sick feeling when you realize you are going to fast for conditions just as it's too late to recover!
