RE: It's raining Zanzibar - EvoqueSi4 - 16-05-2014 11:25am ZANZIBAR is definitely still in production and they won't cancel the color. However, they did cancel IPANEMA SAND by the 1st of May -> which is kind of stupid, because they haven't built my car (which i ordered in IPANEMA SAND 3 month ago) before. So about 2 weeks ago the dealer called me, and said that i would have to change my colorchoice, because they don't spray them anymore in my color. Now half-involuntarily my new one will be ZANZIBAR as well (Black roof / windows). Looking at these pictures confirms, that our "second-choice" isn't bad at all... RE: It's raining Zanzibar - Chrisr1806 - 16-05-2014 01:12pm Zanzibar is being removed later this year. RE: It's raining Zanzibar - J77 - 28-05-2014 07:45pm I've seen it once in the flesh, I wasn't too sure when LR first introduced it but after seeing it, it does look good. RE: It's raining Zanzibar - XFullFatTim - 28-05-2014 09:59pm It really suits Freelander2 as well. RE: It's raining Zanzibar - J77 - 28-05-2014 10:08pm I've never seen it in the Freelander. I've just put my deposit down for the Disco Sport and I'm hoping that orange colour from the Beijing Vision concept makes an appearance. I fancy that with black alloys but details are sketchy at the moment. RE: It's raining Zanzibar - buckiebabyrr - 07-06-2014 11:02pm Still a very rare colour yet to see one in the north east, definently stands out from the crowd. RE: It's raining Zanzibar - EvoqueSi4 - 25-09-2014 01:39pm As of a good week ago, my nickname in this forum isn't right anymore: The white SI4 has gone, and the new Zanzibar-SD4 is here. However, I'm to lazy to change the nick... Spec: 9SpeedAuto, Pure, all Packs (Tech, Winter, Light), panorama roof, black roof, and more... RE: It's raining Zanzibar - XFullFatTim - 25-09-2014 03:24pm How did you get around the problem of accelerated wear on the driveshafts at the hubs putting such a big lift on or is that the maximum the 4wd system can take? RE: It's raining Zanzibar - EvoqueSi4 - 25-09-2014 04:02pm the hooke's / cardan joints (<-internet translation, not sure that's correct, but you get the meaning) can take 30mm (1,18 inch) easily. They probably could take even more lift, before substantial wear would occur. you can check that on a auto hoist, while the wheels are completely free and springs are out... http://www.spaccer.com/ offers up to 48mm (1,89 inch) lift via spacer-plates above the springs. however, i went for longer springs (same spring rate like the originals) from H&R... I recon the drive shafts are more burdened by the larger rolling circumference (higher resistance) of those bigger tires... RE: It's raining Zanzibar - bangsters - 25-09-2014 09:13pm love the color. what made you decide on going smaller on the wheels, 17s as opposed to 18s or 19s/20s? How's the ride on those? Oh and in the pic, I assume the white was your other car? How long you had the white one before deciding to switch to zanzibar? Both cars look terrific!! But I like your zanzibar with the black out accents. |
