ask your dealer for your VIN - when I checked mine, it said it was built on Monday (two days ahead of schedule)!

Thanks. Going to the dealers on Saturday morning to get a small repair done to my Jaguar before it goes back to the leasing company. So I shall ask for the VIN and then spend a couple of hours sitting inside an Evoque playing with buttons and dials.

Got the VIN today from the dealer. Build date was as stated. Hopefully delivery within the next two weeks.

Went to the dealers today to get some work done on the XF. Whilst there got the finance paperwork sorted out to save time on collection day. The dealer is expecting a delivery of 9 Evoques early next week - mine included - so we could be good to go next Friday.
The wait is drawing to an end.

Originally when I checked my VIN, for outstanding campaigns it listed:
L622 - FREE SERVICE 12M / 10000MI / 16000KM
and now it added:
L700 - PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION
can I infer any particular point in the process from this fact? I'm sure it gets added at SOME point, I was just wondering if it means it is on US soil already.

Well I think you can assume that your car has been built, has completed final QC and is on the way from the distribution centre here in the UK to your dealer!

Indeed so. I was just wondering if the pre-delivery inspection is something that happened on the UK end before loading it, or after arrival at Baltimore.
(Not that it matters I suppose, but speculating on these things is a good way to kill time!)

I've just had an email with a screen shot of the dealer's Vista screen on it and right down at the bottom it says "Status - Order being built" That was at 1404GMT today! Pity I wasn't there to follow it down the line..........
