Now Griff, there's a thought.......................... a VAT free Evoque Van for the business user. I know somebody who has had both an RRS Supercharged and a FFRR converted to commercials by removal of the rear seats and replacement of the privacy with blackout glass. If anybody is interested Lakeland Land Rover specialise in doing a commercial conversion of any "normal" Range Rover to a very upmarket van!

I almost bought a Golf R until I found I could not delete the privacy glass. Just as well as this was before the RRE was on my radar.

I think it looks awful, unbalances the look of the car and there's no way in the world I would have it.

I'm afraid that I love the tinted glass and wouldn't want a car without it! But then again, for my sins I had a black FFRR with the bling Supercharge kit on it so I do look like a drug dealer and should never be allowed to give style advice to anyone!

Last 4 cars in last 4 years...CLK (with AMG kit), Porsche 911 (with GT3 kit), FFRR (with Supercharge kit), and Audi A5 (with S5 kit)...and all with tinted glass!

If you've heard of bad taste bears, my car history is bad taste cars!! It all started with a Cavalier when I was 17...you guessed it, with SRi bodykit!!!

I hang my head in shame and can only hope that one day I grow up!

P.s. And no, I'm not a footballer!!!

It would be a crime to add the privacy glass to the evoque!!!!

People who say they have spec'd privacy glass to keep the car cooler on hot days must be deceiving themselves. Surely on a hot sunny day, the interior of the car will heat up regardless of how deep the tint is on the rear windows. I'm sure you could weld sheet steel over them and it would still be like a furnace in there purely because the heat will radiate through all the surfaces. I will agree that it will cut down on glare in the back, but that's about it.
To me it should only be fitted if:

You regularly carry 'A' list celebs in the back.
You have specified RSE.
You simply prefer the way it looks ( Shocked )

I am sure LR would not make the claim unless they could prove it. Anyway the claim is cooler not cool. It's in their advertising so we live in hope.
Cheers

Most of the heat enters trough the windows when IR rays go trough the windows. Shaded windows mean less IR i.e. heat will penetrate th cabin. This is especially trough for the rear passangers, which will be better protected from direct sunlight/heat. Other surfaces transfer heat much less, as there is isolation on the roof/door panels.

I want it so my rear seat passengers cannot see that it is still raining outside.................... NOBODY in the UK buys privacy to keep the sunshine OUT, we don't see enough of it to have that luxury!
