1st Service due - Teetree - 17-09-2013 10:59pm 'Basic equipment' in this case being a dirty dish cloth! Last time I had the steering wheel sorted back at Williams LR they gave it a quick once over too but only thing I noticed then was a slight oil/grease on the speedo so that at least was much more satisfactory. I've read before on the forum how some members didn't allow the dealer to wash their car during servicing now I know why. Yea next time I definitely will tell them not to wash it. 1st Service due - Teetree - 19-09-2013 02:44pm Didn't complain about the valeting but did leave feedback online when they asked me via email. Anyway had a call from stratstones customer relations offering a complementary valet (another one!) as a way of an apology for the initial unsatisfactory valet. This time a mobile one so booked in for Mon. See what this ones like. RE: 1st Service due - Rxa - 30-10-2013 04:30pm Just had the message pop up saying my first service is due in 17 days. I've driven just over 5,000 miles since I got the car last November. Lookers Park Royal have quoted £433.36 and Stratstone Mayfair £401.11 for the full service. Does that seem high or reasonable for London? I also need to get the following done - Sat Nav not working most of the time Condensation in the tail lamps Q261 - ECO START STOP SYSTEM INOPERATIVE & VEHICLE SOFTWARE UPDATES P033 - SPILL RAIL RE: 1st Service due - RRSteve - 30-10-2013 05:17pm Just had my second service done and it cost me £420 as a reference. Bl00dy ridiculous for a car that has done 5000 miles ![]() ![]() RE: 1st Service due - Barton Evoque - 01-11-2013 10:08am I haggled with my dealer Marshall's at Peterborough got them down to £299 inc vat. Does that seem high or reasonable for London? Sounds like the cost of the second service to me... (about to pay £450!) I paid £287 for first service, but then i'm not paying London Prices... Agree Speary this yearly service thing is a rip orf! At least once it's out of Warranty it can be serviced as and when it needs it, I just do the Mazda every 2 years with the mileage it does, and only pay £180, still runs like a dream (but rusts like a steel ocean liner... ![]() RE: 1st Service due - XFullFatTim - 01-11-2013 12:19pm (01-11-2013 10:10am)PhilSkill Wrote: ..........(but rusts like a steel ocean liner... In that case you've got it for many many years to come! Most of the big liners are more than 30+ years old and the QE2 is getting on for her late 50's! Maybe a comparison to Japanese "stainless" steel that is the only stainless steel used in the marine environment that I have seen rusting RE: 1st Service due - Kevp - 01-11-2013 12:49pm Lookers of Chelmsford Essex quoted an unbelievable £486 for a first service. Managed to get them to pricematch Marshalls of Peterborough for £345 after I threatened to drive 200 miles to save £140. I don't think I've seen a first service quote so high. The buying experience from Lookers was first class so I'll try their servicing, although can't help feeling what a rip off it all is.
