New Top Gear 30th June 13 - Inges - 28-06-2013 10:42pm They have been in Norway as well for the new season, not sure what they did though. RE: New Top Gear 30th June 13 - Cedric - 02-07-2013 11:20am The north pole adventure was the best episode ever. Having said that, I wouldn't mind some more reviews either, except that they don't do 'normal' cars, so the choice is limited. The first episode was ok. My favourite part of the show is the news. RE: New Top Gear 30th June 13 - PhilSkill - 02-07-2013 01:07pm They did the Renault Clio/Fiesta/Peugeot hot hatches comparison... more average person review than a Black version of the Black AMG Black Edition Merc... which has 10bhp more than the 560bhp previous version they reviewed the week before, type of rubbish they were doing one season. RE: New Top Gear 30th June 13 - ED209 - 02-07-2013 11:02pm Top Gear has become tired, I used to look forward to watching it now its just tedious. No, he oversteps the mark. I am a BBC person to be honest but I don't think he is worthy of the traditional BBC image in the way he rubbishes many cars. What he doesn't realise or care about is that his oppinions on that show maybe for laughs etc but people watch it because of that & then are in a way brainwashed into thinking what he says is Gospel like some sort of God. These self centred oppinions risk putting jobs at risk or worse as folk are put of buying certain cars. He wrote an article for the Times Magazine recently rubbishing the MG6 saying it brioke down & he had to push it!! I know otherwise & can you really see him getting out & pushing a car? I understand that MG UK are seeking legal advice/action against The Times! Apparently he did a similar thing when they showed the Nissan Leaf electric car bragging it ran out of juice on an 18 mile trip - pity they overlooked the fact that Nissan fitted a tracking device! RE: New Top Gear 30th June 13 - Biker - 03-07-2013 07:19am If this was an Australian production, half of it probably wouldn't air due to the reams of red tape. And once it manages to get past all that, the warnings and disclaimers would be longer than the credits. People are just not smart enough to distinguish between fact & fiction/entertainment. By the same token, if Mr Opinionated had his way, anything on two wheels, anything propelled by diesel, kerosene, electricity would have no reason to exist. Or rather, he would prefer cars to run on jet fuel or nuclear power if it makes a bigger bang. RE: New Top Gear 30th June 13 - J77 - 03-07-2013 07:45pm It's light hearted banter and for me is highly enjoyable. Too many over sensitive people in this world. Clarkson is paid to do a job, which he does well. If I want to find out how an Astra drives or any other run of the mill family car I can pop into my local showroom and try it for myself, I don't want to see some boring old presenter dribble on about it. Yes I watch it because its entertaining, but I have enough intellect to realise that it is just that, entertainment nothing more. RE: New Top Gear 30th June 13 - XFullFatTim - 04-07-2013 02:52am Mr C cannot hate diesel too much, his own owned car (as opposed to those lent to him by makers like Mercedes etc) is a 2008MY TDV8 FFRR he has owned from new. RE: New Top Gear 30th June 13 - heronb - 31-07-2013 03:12pm Fulfilled the cliche played out on Sunday, took some rubbish to the tip this morning then off to B&Q. Didn't they go to B&Q first, then dump it all at the tip? PS - last one this week - RRS & F-Type |
