Good point Jai, only really matters if you plan to change cars within a relatively short period of time though. For some 10% means getting what they want vs making compromises. Each to their own I guess Smile

Personally I stopped buying new about 5 years ago. I always go for low mileage dealer cars around 1 to 2 years old and so far I've never had a problem and get loads off new.

Yes thank you.. we have decided to order the 2014 model instead. I think the new gearbox will improve fuel efficiency too.

Remember that 20% of the price you pay for a new car goes straight to the government.

So as soon as you drive it away it's depreciated by 20% thanks to the VAT. After the first year all cars then depreciate more slowly.

I looked at buying a 2nd hand Evoque, but I just couldn't find any that were any cheaper than the price I've paid for a new one with the exact spec that I wanted. Hopefully I'll be keeping it for a good few years (the servicing offer for 5 years will help) so any changes from model years won't make too much of a difference.

Of course they may come out with some amazing change for MY14, but I can't see being able to get such a big discount for Sep. So we'll see if it turns out to be a good decision or not!

Can you tell me where you got that deal please

I've managed to convince myself to buy an Evoque. The running costs have been putting me off, but the new Service pack has helped lower those costs.

There doesn't seem to be any wait for one at the moment, which is perhaps why I managed to get 10% off.

The deals are there for the taking!

Looks like a contradiction ?? - As soon as you drive it away its depreciated by 20% - I looked at buying a 2nd hand Evoque, but I just couldn't find any that were any cheaper than the price I've paid for a new one with the exact spec that I wanted.

All the second hand Evoques were ex demo Dynamics or Prestiges, so although a lot cheaper than a new one, a £35000 2nd hand Evoque that was originally over £40000 is still a lot more than my £30k budget that got me a brand new Pure.

As for where, it's just a case of shopping around. Also, try autoebid.com

Jesus thats a lot!!!

Was it a car with lots of options?

My car lost only about 8% in 11 months and 8000 miles, and that was a straight sale to a stealer.

Yup, that sounds a lot to lose. I lost 9% over 13 months with 12,000 miles. That was on an SD 4 Pure with very few extras
