About 12 weeks, possibly less.

I had an XF loaner for a couple of days while my first Evoque was in for a couple of warranty issues and it was very much like the car version of an Evoque and had the added benefit of stop-start with the auto box on the 2.2 diesel!

That's not too bad - I've heard good things about the XF and have colleagues who have run them for full 3 year/60,000 lease terms and ordered the same again so the guys at Coventry must be bolting them together pretty well I reckon!

Test drove the 2.2d 200bhp 8sp auto sport today, mix of driving, very punchy, quiet, ride and handling is fantastic and car feels lighter than my old 3.0d xf, cars very quiet at speed, pulls 1200rpm at 70mph in 8th. Getting one on an extended test drive so will see what it's like as can imagine the 8sp box will take some getting used to as it shuffles quickly up through the gears.

Does it use all the gears? Some of the new boxes start the car in 2nd or 3rd gear and the lowest gears are so low they are crawler gears for when towing. I believe the Evoques new 9 speeder pulls away in 3rd, the 1st and 2nd ratios only being used for towing and off road and the top is so overdriven that it only gets used at motorway speeds........

I think it did from memory.

Evoques back as well but not sorted.

Evoque broke down this evening with a fault saying electrical charging fault, red battery symbol and ! Mark in red triangle.

Anyhow LR assist could not sort so parked up at one of our offices and in a hire volvo xc60, off to collect all my stuff out of evoque tomorrow as its getting collected to return to LR for good.

A really bad experience, convinced mine has been a bad one as an early build but unfortunately it has really put me off another JLR product, so won't be posting anymore.

Saw an article in the weeklies last weekend, Jaguar are planning a small 4wd SUV.

The graphic looked quite good.

There was a CGI of it in last week's Autocar I think
