Seems like Land Rover are making up for lost time. 1948? one model, 1971? two model line-up, 1976? three model line-up. Apologies to historians who will no doubt correct my dates. As long as the R&D doesn't suffer, good luck to them. What next .....a LandRover convertible!!!

The convertable has already been done - the original Land Rovers of 1948 were all open tops!

I think the success of the Evoque shows there is plenty more room for Land Rover derivates.

I would hazard a guess that despite being a pure SUV brand that AUDI or BMW outsell them in SUV terms easily. This should not be the case, the brand should be expanded and the full potential realised.

They should hurry up though, the length between JLR product launches is too long and although improving, they still need to replace the Freelander and Disco before more models are added.

Disco being replaced in 2014 and the Fl2 around a similar time. The Disco will use the new D7u platform introduced for the new FFRR along with the new sport.

I think one thing that attracts people to the Range Rover (FFRR) is that it DOESN'T change much - yes there were updates to the 2002 L322 at 2007 and 2010 but they weren't earth shattering changes quite like the new one or the change between P38A and L322. I have read that one reason that the RRS doesn't look like a sleeker FFRR from the front was because too many P38A owners didn't like the L322 so LR styled the RRS to appeal to the customer who had been loyal up to then. In general Range Rover owners aren't dedicated followers of trends - just look at the fuss that some made over the "improvements" (ie added bling) that were put on the car for the 2010MY just to satisfy Chinese and Russian buyers. People still laugh at "modified" FFRR's that have been chromed and tinselled or body kitted. I see on the LR Used Car locator that you can now get a delivery miles FFRR run out model for not a lot more than a new Evoque with all the boxes ticked. If I were looking for a new car right now I think I would be seriously looking at a 4.4ltr L322 Westminster, they are fantastic value and probably the best produced.

Funny. The last one listed in Luxury category is Range Rover Baby Evoque... lets be proactive and reserve the domain babyRRe.com !! or may be babyRReMINI ... babyRReMINImicro.... baby bla bla bla... LR should stick to RR Sport only, thats the only machine they are good at... the rest is total BS.

I fancy a FFRR but I don't really need a car that size and they are but out if budget brand new. Some good looking used ones about 2 year old though.

RR Sport Rolling with Laughter that suffers from its fair share of problems as well, I would have a discovery any day over a sport. Which magazine survey of the most reliable cars, owners of the sport voted it LRs least reliable car.
