so compared to the price on the RR configurator , my 5 month old demonstrator was 12% cheaper.

Residuals not so rock solid then.

No, Prices have gone up 4%, and an ex-demonstrator is generally going to fetch the least money, other than a press car... so for you was probably a bargain!

Used LR dealer site offers almost identical spec to mine, same mileage, only a few £ cheaper then I paid.

Think I dropped on , Especially as the price on the LR website was cheaper than what the dealer had in the window in the car on the forecourt - and the dealer agreed to do it for the internet price. Was the last day in the month too, which always helps if the dealer needs to "blow" a car out to acheive targets

No bonus for the dealer if the car you bought was a pre-reg demo - he's already claimed on it when he registered it 3 months ago.
