RE: A34 missing from Sat Nav - BobM - 14-10-2012 09:12pm Maybe all of our sat-navs (yours at least as I dont have one) were all talking to each other and are too frightened to go down the A34 now since the demise of so many of their brothers last week. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/land-rover/range-rover/60701/lorry-load-land-rovers-crashes-a34 Was on holiday in Dorset last week and it made a fair bit of news. RE: A34 missing from Sat Nav - XFullFatTim - 14-10-2012 09:22pm In best journalistic mis-reporting they weren't Range Rovers they were Disco4's..................... As an aside - today I was following a VW Polo and the driver had a windscreen mount satnav....................... how did I know from behind? Well I could see the satnav screen right directly in the line of sight of the driver - it was stuck to the screen right in front of her eyes, not in the middle of the screen below the mirror or over by the A pillar, but right snack in from of her eyes! How bl**dy stupid is that? I'm glad it's not just me that's always gobsmacked by the stupid places people mount SatNavs on their windscreens. I've also seen a few with it mounted it right in front of them, though the oddest one I ever saw was one fixed with a suction mount to the drivers door window and angled round a bit at eye level. Why that would seem like a sensible or even useful thing to do, I've no idea. And as for when he wanted to open the window... RE: A34 missing from Sat Nav - XFullFatTim - 15-10-2012 10:04am I know somebody who has a Land Rover in dash system but his wife has a Tom-Tom that she sticks to the windscreen in front of her on the passenger side. Looks really odd in the UK as the car is a LHD car |
