RE: Daylight Running Tail-lights - XFullFatTim - 01-10-2012 02:14pm Right, just back from my local Land Rover dealership where they couldn't have been more helpful and kindly showed me the special way to take the crossbars off the roof................. and I asked about switching on the Scandinavia DRL in their computerised system - to quote "no problem, yes it is possible on an Evoque" So there we are it is possible - oh and there are 3 options in the computer - Scandinavia, Canadian and Polish.................. he didn't know what the difference was between our's and the Polish option was though. RE: Daylight Running Tail-lights - cjfp - 01-10-2012 02:16pm So, did you have the DRL change made ? RE: Daylight Running Tail-lights - Frp1 - 01-10-2012 02:21pm Mine is a year old today and in for a service. I asked about the rear lights and was told they can only do it with the dipped beam on with the rear lights. No as I didn't have an appointment and having asked for help to remove the crossbars didn't want to push my luck................... It can wait until I have to book it in for something or next year's service , which on passed history will come first! RE: Daylight Running Tail-lights - WB - 01-10-2012 03:44pm Thanks Tim! Just found this on wikipedia which would suggest the Polish option is low beam headlights at all times. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daytime_running_lamp So do you think the Canada setting is the same as the UK and Scandi is front and rear DRLs on? Thanks RE: Daylight Running Tail-lights - XFullFatTim - 01-10-2012 05:40pm It seems in that item that Canada permits permanent illumination of the turn signals as DRL's , excepted when they are needed to flash to indicate turning - USA followed Canada with this - USA also requires side marker lights (usually in LR products that is why you have a yellow reflector on the side of the headlamp unit. If you open that up you will find an unfilled lamp holder in it for the US market. Poland and some eastern European countries require dim dip headlights at certain times of the year and outside built up areas and no DRLs RE: Daylight Running Tail-lights - cjfp - 01-10-2012 06:04pm So, to confirm, when we go harass the dealer we need to ask them to change setting to Scandinavian ? RE: Daylight Running Tail-lights - XFullFatTim - 01-10-2012 06:25pm Yes, that is my understanding although it appears that Frp1's dealer could only find the Polish settings in their computer! RE: Daylight Running Tail-lights - cjfp - 01-10-2012 06:58pm Where's Pete when you need him most !? RE: Daylight Running Tail-lights - Frp1 - 01-10-2012 07:43pm I will ask my dealer again in the morning, as they have kept it over nite. And I have there focus Ben (01-10-2012 06:25pm)XFullFatTim Wrote: Yes, that is my understanding although it appears that Frp1's dealer could only find the Polish settings in their computer! |
