yeah we got this buring smell the other day, when parking in garage after a short run to town and back, seemed to be coming from the front grill......had a RRS some time ago and remembered that there was the odd puff of smoke out the front from the DPF, anyone know if it's the same on the RRE?

I hope our PDFs are doing plenty of good for the environment, 'cos there's certainly a lot of downside!

The odd puff of smoke from the front of an RRS is the fuel burner heater exhaust clearing itself.
I have had this a couple of times and just thought it was next door's car.........................

I have had 2 evoques, both diesel, and both have occasionally done this. I think it happens when the DPF has started but not finished. Mentioned it once to the service department and they said it was normal, it certainly was not anything burning underthe car. Not had it for some time now though

Yep it's the DPF is regenerating when you stopped, (not the full regeneration which shows a light and you should not turn off but drive until the light goes out)

shouldn't get smoke out of the front grille or wheel arch though

Had that too, plus the burning smell.

I'd noticed a similar problem with my car (together with a hot oily smell occasionally inside the car when idling for long periods such as in heavy traffic) but not the DPF as it's a petrol Si4. Took it to the dealership before Christmas and they diagnosed the problem causing both smells as a leaking heater hose union which they tightened but couldn't completely seal. Currently waiting for the new hose to come in and be fitted so will let you know if this fixes the problem.
