RE: Geneva Motor Show - Evoque Convertible - Coolbanana - 06-03-2012 07:36pm I'd have one! But I need the space so no convertible for me just yet. Unless my wife decides to get something larger than a Mini next time around - if she does, I'll probably get one - subject to what the competition has to offer of course. RE: Geneva Motor Show - Evoque Convertible - Mag1c_dragon - 06-03-2012 07:52pm It looks very similar to a Golf convertible - not my cup of tea . . . That's maybe because you see it in pictures. The normal Evoque also looks like a Golf on certain pictures. It seems smaller than it is in some pictures. RE: Geneva Motor Show - Evoque Convertible - Evoqess - 06-03-2012 09:58pm Oh hideous! It reminds me of a bathtub on wheels but I wouldn't even buy it and sink it into the ground as a hot tub. I see it as a slur against the LRX original design. I hope it looks better in the flesh - not that I'll be paying it any attention - in a few years time just imagine what will be on offer from competitors. (I know, strong opinion but I can't help it - can someone please tell me why this has happened and how dare it be at the same show as the Boxster S?). If they make it too expensive then its going to be outgunned by better cars for the money but if its A5 cab money then it will sell well. RE: Geneva Motor Show - Evoque Convertible - RacingSnake - 07-03-2012 10:31am I recall reading somewhere (maybe on here), that there is a typical 10% premium for a convertible over a standard car... so would sit this between 40-55k I guess. RE: Geneva Motor Show - Evoque Convertible - XFullFatTim - 07-03-2012 10:36am So it should be about the same price as a Coupe then? RE: Geneva Motor Show - Evoque Convertible - RacingSnake - 07-03-2012 10:47am To spec would probably plant it just over coupe price. What would be interesting though is that it'll be missing some of the major parts of a top spec car, such as powered tailgate, panoramic glass, contrast roof etc... So what you gain in one hand you lose in the other. In reality it's all speculation and if it comes out with an 'unrealistic' premium, I'll be taking my deposit back. RE: Geneva Motor Show - Evoque Convertible - JackMac - 09-03-2012 04:13am This concept makes no sense to me, sorry. |
