RE: Fitting Of Roofrails. - WB - 09-02-2012 11:40am I'm only planning to use the roof rails occasionally so I've just bought the Thule kit that doesn't require the roof rails - £170 in total including the top of the range wing bars. http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4.php?emulate=roofbar&query=7920&vptype=461489&brand=Thule RE: Fitting Of Roofrails. - fam1x - 09-02-2012 07:28pm Installed my roof rails wasnt that hard needed to use platic knife to get the old covers. Here are some pictures hope it helps. Same as normal! but i always open the window slightly when i carry a passenger..and blame it on the dog. ![]() RE: Fitting Of Roofrails. - fam1x - 09-02-2012 10:14pm What wind noise I can't hear anything just about hear the engine noise. The car is well build was doing 100mph on the motorway felt very smooth and very little road noise. Guess once I have my bike on the roof might start to hear random noise. However im not carrying the bike every day ![]() (09-02-2012 11:40am)WB Wrote: I'm only planning to use the roof rails occasionally so I've just bought the Thule kit that doesn't require the roof rails - £170 in total including the top of the range wing bars. Do you have any pictures o that these roof rails look like on the car please, as I'm thinking of getting some as I will only use the every now and then too. RE: Fitting Of Roofrails. - gead - 10-02-2012 01:24am Thanks fam1x. Did the finishing cover plates go on easily? RE: Fitting Of Roofrails. - gead - 10-02-2012 10:58am How embarrassing...no wonder they didn't fit easily....I had them back to front...Lol! I blame the ikea-esque instructions ![]() Rails look great! Just remembered there are some pics on the thread below (post 14) of the Thule with the basic black bars. I will still get a photo to post up as I have the aerodynamic wing bars which look quite different. http://babyrr.com/forum/Thread-Roof-rail-bar-options?page=2&highlight=1663 RE: Fitting Of Roofrails. - gead - 14-02-2012 06:05am just picked up a set of thule bars and bike carrier for the evoque. The bike carrier has been powder coated black to match everything else...works well with the rails...i have a gloss black roof box on order. I should be set for family holidays now ![]() ![]() a couple of better shots with the treadly on the roof.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Fitting Of Roofrails. - ChuckieB - 14-02-2012 03:11pm That set of thule bars doesn't look quite like what we have on offer in Europe? Have yo got the no for the foot keyt at all please. The europe spec offers a rubber coated metal strap underneath to secure it? Also how many bikes can you get on? LR suggest of you have their cross bars and bike carriers you can only get 2 to fit! am assuming they are thinking you wouldn't turn one of the extra racks round as it would spoil the aesthetics! Thanks. |
