Update,
When I got into the car this morning the screen background was White with lots of thin multicoloured vertical lines!!!!!!!!!

Radio (sound) was working, but there was no display, I tried pressing various buttons etc, etc, but no joy.

I switched the engine off and waited a few minutes, then restarted and the screen was back to normal!

I will wait to see if it happens again, but I am not sure if it may have something to do with whatever was being mentioned on the news last night regarding solar flares or electrical disturbances in the atmosphere ( I wasn't really paying attention) but I do remember the news saying something about the possibility of sat-navs being affected (although mine doesnt have sat nav)?
