Shadow Chrome Style 7 - best of both worlds.

There is a totally black Evoque in Farnells, looks very nice the gloss black wheels make it look mean, seeing it it's made me think more about getting a Evoque when the swap comes

You won't do it Nick, towing limit of the Evoque isn't as high as the Freelander's you might have to sell the pikeywagon!

My caravans 1500kg, the max weight of a caravan I have seen which i have pondered on is 1870kg but with it been £22k I don't think I'll buy it, others I like are still within it's limits at 1650kg so still well within the Evoques limitThumbs Up

With my job thinking the D4 is a liitle on the big side, for inner city driving and the mpg will be horrendous when my FL2 only get 22mpg, so the RRS would be the same, the Evoque or a FL3 (whenever that is) are heading to the top of my desired cars Very Happy

Braked limit for Evoque is 1800kgs IIRC

Yes it is so, my other lighter option of caravan would save me about £6k

Perhaps not.....the problem with Shadow Chrome is the process used, as whilst they look great any refurbishment process is a nightmare, as no repairer will guarantee to match the other 3 wheels perfectly, so your options to match are...

A. Use your full sized spare & put your refurbed alloy in the boot...not an option with an Evoque as it's a temporary spare.
B. Refurb 2 alloys from the same side, knowing they won't match exactly those on the other side of your car.
C. Refurb all 4 alloys.
D. Buy a new alloy & swap the tyres.

I found out the above earlier this year after my wife took avoiding action & grazed her FL2's Shadow Chrome Alloy against a boulder in the verges tall grass when an eejit thought it sensible to cut across a blind corner, this obviously resulted in a visit to the local alloy refurbisher.
