Normal driving usage, but worst MPG since I initially got the vehicle at 34.4 ... Not sure what's happened only thing is it is a bit colder and not been used quite so much recently, hoping the first service might see a return to the higher 30's not lower...

3 degC this morning and the frost was pretty much melted, leaving thin layer of water on all the glass, turned on the heated rear screen and noticed within a minute the mirrors were literally steaming and coming clear, so the heated mirrors definitely work!

I tried the mirror heaters on mine yesterday when they misted up but it was 7c outside. Switched on the heated screen and they cleared in about 30 seconds.

Driving a New Freelander 2 SD4 while mines in for the rattle and tailgate re-alignment. Showed the mechanic exactly where to press to stop the rattle so they will have the panel off, check, and replace all the clips. Service Manager came up and said LR are taking rattles very seriously and have been at their site investigating unusual noises front and rear on Evoques.

Tailgate done much much better and... so far quiet bliss from the rear door!!! Such a pleasure to drive again!

They took the interior panel off, re-sealed the door, and replaced all the clips... Peaceful Heaven.

Mentioned the USB lockups I have with some larger sticks, they tested the USB ports but they said no fault found, must be the USB Stick. I didn't get through 1 song before it stopped, so back to my trusty USB Sticks that work. There are no outstanding advisory notices on the USB.

Asked about software, but said they would have done any required at the service.

While I was in there another Evoque owner was having the coolant alarm problem...

I was chatting to a service manager yesterday and his view was that not all cars are due upgrades as the upgrades are done at the end of the production line for new cars with latest versions being installed. Most of the software upgrades are for the very first cars like mine, also some upgrades are applicable only to certain variants and even to only a few VIN numbers, so don't expect that every car is going to get upgrades.

I'm inclined to agree Tim, if my USB is not a software issue, then I have 0 problems, so that would mean no fixes are required for my car, so likely no updates available. I guess later cars may have issues that dont occur on earlier cars. But guess there are unlikely to be any 'Feature' upgrades which is a shame, only 'Fixes'.

Latest Fuel Chart showing I have pretty much settled down at 35mpg... I really was hoping 40mpg by 10000miles but with some hilly driving over the Cotswolds that's just a dream.

The car has been fantastic through this rainy weather, handles great when you hit those side verges full of water and streams of water over the road, makes you feel very confident and safe.

But all this damp Weather means I had another occurence of the noisy start-up idle, it's definitely a belt slipping when damp.

I was very impressed as I filled up again today having covered just under 400 miles in a week, Christmas shopping to blame, gave me 43 mpg, so mustn't complain with 40.4 overall.

RE: My Fuji Dynamic SD4 Manual - PhilSkill - 29-12-2012 01:40pm

Worst ever MPG now with 31.9mpg although have been bombing around, quite a bit of town driving start stop and then fast Motorway, rather than steady 50mph stuff Sad

The way it's going it'll be worse than my 2.3L petrol which I drive with my foot on the floor constantly!!! Mad
