What tyres? - M30 EVO - 03-08-2011 01:32pm Any ideas what tyres we will be getting? I've got a dynamic on order with the 20" style 6 alloys. From the handbbok I know that the tyres are 245/45 R20, and from my build sheet I can see that mine will be shod with Pirelli's. Any idea which variety they will be?! RE: What tyres? - LP - 03-08-2011 01:47pm My build spec says Pirellis. RE: What tyres? - XFullFatTim - 03-08-2011 01:49pm If LR is fitting Pirellis then my last RRS had Pirelli Assymetricos and the current FFRR has Scorpion Zeros, my 1st RRS had Continentals (aak Craptinentals). Generally Land Rover fits Mud and Snow tyres to most of their cars so they have some degree of offroad capability straight out of the showroom. I will also be looking for a set of winter tyres for my new baby - I have a set of excellent 19" Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow winter tyres that have been fantastic on both the RRS and FFRR but are the wrong size for the Evoque RE: What tyres? - cjfp - 03-08-2011 02:00pm My order says Pirellis (on 19") RE: What tyres? - an78 - 03-08-2011 03:18pm m+s? RE: What tyres? - vinny - 03-08-2011 07:53pm The 20's are michelin latitudes The 19's are goodyear as far as im aware RE: What tyres? - ant - 03-08-2011 08:06pm I don't want Continentals. I want Pirellis. RE: What tyres? - XFullFatTim - 03-08-2011 08:16pm Ant I think anybody who has experienced Craptinentals on any other Land Rover product would prefer Pirellis on their car! BTW I asked LPR to supply mine on any make that wasn't Continentals but I would prefer Pirellis. The set on my TDv8RRS only needed changing at 28000 miles because I destroyed the nearside front and rears on a pothole encounter, but they had only the tiniest wear on the shoulders which was common on that car, the Craptinentals that I had on the previous RRS were shot by 24000 miles............... The FFRR's Pirellis are also like new 18 months and 9500 miles down the road. The BFG AT's that I ran my defender on for years lasted 68000 miles before I sold them on to somebody else with 5mm all round still remaining! My first Disco, which was a V8 petrol engined jobbie, ran 54000 miles on its Avon Turbospeed tyres and it never went offroad! |
