Was having a conversation with a very well informed moderator on here, which led to a piece of good advice regarding cleaning the car afterwards.

So I thought why not build up a list of useful tips, that we can all add to.

1. Wash the insides of the wheels after driving through wet mud, if you don't it can dry on like concrete, and act as wheel balancing weights, ruining you ride.

2. Steer clear of shingle beaches Laughing

Never take a Black car off-roading - you'll be polishing it for weeks afterward to get all the scratches out

If you want to go off-road buy a Land Rover, If not --- Buy a Land Rover.

At least i can laugh at myself now, I looked like a prize bell end when i was struggling last night. Still you live and you learn. I was amazed by the performance of the si4 auto evoque i drove at the landrover experience, I think it convinced me my manual td4 would be ok! I was wrong. Much stalling and shuffling was done, in the end it made it out on its own but it was touch and go for a bit!

Any more details since I'm ordering a TD4 manual this week? We don't get shingle beaches but what was the main issue - power or manual box?

My lack of driving abilty probably was the issue, never driven a manual off road before and wasnt too sure what the best technique was.

Is the TD4 available for overseas markets?

About to find out for sure, was still available 2 weeks ago. Had an extended (18hrs) loan a week ago to see what we thought and make sure it fit the car space (it does). Drove really well and suits needs, didn't take it off road of course. Hence my question - other half likes a manual box, I don't mind. Keeping an eye out for stories about others experiences.
Just checked, still showing as available on Oz website.
