2013 Specs - buzben67 - 05-07-2012 05:12pm

I was getting a quote for leasing and the guy said LR have stopped making the 2012 model year vehicles.

He said they were waiting for specs and prices for the 2013 model year.

For example he said they may drop full leather trim on Pure trim levels much like the Freelander.

I was about to order an entry level eD4 2WD Pure on PCP or possibly lease but now I'm worried that there is an imminent price hike or spec reduction.

Surely they won't facelift the exterior? It's amazing already!

Perhaps they may increase the prices!

Has anyone heard similar rumours or can anyone confirm anything please?

Confused

Don't know about the interior but I doubt that LR would make any exterior changes as the car isn't yet a year old and is still selling like hotcakes. They could introduce a lower model than the Pure with a cloth interior I suppose but why? The Pure sells very well with its present spec and LR ain't exactly short of customers for any version in the current line up of models.
I suspect your salesman was trying to catch an order based on your worries

If anything Tim, he was discouraging me from ordering a 2012 model in favour of waiting for the 2013 details.

I notice from posts today that early April orders are now being built which is encouraging.

Better than 5 months the dealer quoted and 3 months will still get me a 62 reg now. My boss ordered in Dec 2011 and has only just taken delivery!

I think mine is the oldest Evoque on the forum. Put down a deposit on an LRX in October 2009, ordered an Evoque in March 2011, took delivery on 9th September 2011 - launch day, then drove it the length of the UK from London to Stirling in full glare of a motorway full of Saturday drivers. I have never been photographed by so many phone cameras in a day! And nearly caused a riot in Knutsford Services carpark when I pulled in for a "comfort" stop. But that wait is nothing to my wait for a DC100 Defender replacement which might be coming in 2016!

First place i will probably check is comcar.com

The always seem ahead of the curve on pricing

@Jonathon - do you mean fleettimes.co.uk ? tried comcar.com but that didn't look right!

RE: 2013 Specs - Barneyridge - 05-07-2012 11:31pm

Remember in some part of the world, the Pure comes standard with part leather. They could rationalise the specs worldwide and make it standard across the board perhaps ??

RE: 2013 Specs - buzben67 - 06-07-2012 08:49am

@barneyridge - didn't know that - all models in the UK have full leather - so perhaps they could downgrade to partial leather, or, heaven forbid, cloth!

RE: 2013 Specs - XFullFatTim - 06-07-2012 07:30pm

Cloth is an option in some markets, but Range Rover is a very up market, luxury brand in the UK so cloth would devalue the brand. There was a version of the RRS that was available with cloth seat covers, it was very quickly dropped from the range as most people buying the S, specced it with the leather faced seats as an option. IIRC there is now also no D4 model except the commercial, with cloth seat facings, but I stand to be corrected on that

If anything the may throw a few spec upgrades in & charge more

At a starting price of £29k the Ed4 pure would still be be a bargain
