Another Excuse for Delays! - scottie99 - 21-10-2011 04:25pm

I was told by my dealer today that one of the reasons for more delays is the fact that Jaguar XFs are being given priority for the 2.2 diesel engines.

honestly, you couldnt make it up!

I think we should award a prize of a wooden spoon to the dealer who comes up with the least plausible excuse for a car being late, in the mould of "the dog ate my homework".

Maybe it's not such a crazy excuse.

As per the Tata Motors website and from the CFO of JLR
"Actually, although the UK industry has softened a bit, we do continue to see good demand for
the Freelander and Discovery which are the two models that are lower year-to-year and broadly
the reason for those volumes being down is broadly supply constraints from diesel engines for
the Freelander and to lesser extent to Discovery"

Someone then asks the question
"So you are deliberately kind of restricting supply in UK and ensure the supply to higher margin
market continues, is the story like that?"

to which Kenneth Gregor replies
"That is a practical reality of having somewhat constraints supply of engines in first half of this
year, and what I was trying to say is that we are therefore balancing supply across the various
markets, and making sure that we got the stock in the right places with the highest margins"

I spoke to my dealer today he said that the factory has now run out of the letters "R" for the bonnet, so I can have my car but it would say "ANGE OVE" LaughingLaughingLaughing

I think we have now just reached the point of scare mongering and people making stuff up. Its all getting a bit much for me.

I wasnt on about this post in particular, just in general.

I have heard that all evoques are delayed because they never actually existed in the first place.

I guess it all depends on your outlook

The eternal optimist in me tells me I'll get my car in January as promised by my dealer

If I don't then I will go into a state of severe depression from which I may never recoverBig Cry
