What do you guys think? Is this worth the money or would you get the same type of thing from a specialist car audio centre at a much lower price?

I was interested but way to expensive for a couple of screens... I would say go aftermarket or but a slate instead. iPad or similar do cost a fraction...

Bought 2 32Gb iPod touches for my boys. Holds plenty of films/tv series and games etc at the same time. Plus you can take them with you as well. £450 is much better value. Keeps them both quiet on long journeys and on flights( bonus).

and you can plug them into the ICE with a fire wire and watch the movies on the front screen too in you have dual view and they are not in iTunes special format!

Is that only from the passenger seat or is it visible in other seats?

Assume you can hack the ordinary screen to show movies while driving? (not that the driver would look but others could) Wink

Can this be done?

I know it can be done in almost all BMW. But no clue regarding LR/RR

Why would you want to do this ?

The front screen is too small and the rear seats too far back/obscured by the front seats assuming passengers are belted in that it would hardly be a workable solution for those in the back.

Ad for the front passenger then surely paying for the dual screen option is better than hacking the system and having the absurd situation of full motion video playing asa distraction for the driver ?

There are several tv in motion providers out there. D3 and I think D4 and their respective RRS counterparts can be done but per my post above the logic for doing this defeats me I have to say.

i wouldn't alter the screen so the driver can see the TV whilst driving = Traffic offence & will probably lead to points & a fine at best & an accident at worst.
