Crying
On Friday night a lady coming down my road had a blow out and her new Audi A1 careered left and swiped my car on the rear drivers side panel and then hit the front wheel knocking the steering out. the car is un-drivable as I discovered when I went to go out to dinner and heard the noises coming from my front right wheel. The wheel has been knock into the wheel arch and I have visions of expense. Shocked

I live in a small village and I must say I was so touched when the lady knocked on my door and apologised that she had hit my car due to loss of control following the blow out. She was a little shook up but otherwise O.K. She was very apologetic for hitting such a nice new car. I was watching TV at the time!

Anyway I phoned Admiral and notified a potential claim but pointed out that as it was a third party who did the damage I would be confirming details in the morning when she came back with her insurance when we would exchange details over a cup of coffee.

Yesterday the lady came round and low and behold she is with Admiral as well. We had both phoned them about the accident but without the knowledge of each others details. I must say Admiral were superb and got everything sorted out on an hour. They took all the details, confirmed that my insurance would not have the accident on it and my claim was deleted from my policy. I was transferred to a lovely lady in the prestige department who really knows her cars and agreed that as it was equipped with magneride and the Range Rover off road traction gismos it would go to Harwoods (my dealer) for repair and if necessary a specialist garage if there are issues with the electronics and magneride. (i don't think there will be).

They gave me an option of courtesy cars to have whilst mine is in, I opted for a Disco and everything will be finalised on Monday. Admiral were amazed that two people who had an accident would sit down in such a way and sort things out over coffee and biscuits - but that's country life for you - no point in getting hetup about it. Just sort it out.

It is a pain to have the damage, but although it was really lucky to have us both insured with the same company, I must say the guys at Admiral were courteous , kind friendly and efficient so well done them. And because they are picking up the car costs - no credit hire which must be good for them!

I'll keep you posted on repairs but they did say that in their experience the availability of spares is an issue at the moment as build is so intense so I expect to have the Disco for a while!

Cheers
Griff
Sorry to hear that and glad nobody was hurt and everything is under way to get it sorted!
+1
Sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident, but glad to hear that Admiral have been helpful. They were really good with my claim when my previous car was stolen, kept me well informed through out the claim process. My evoque is insured with them too. Good luck with the repair.
Sorry to hear about your accident Griff. Hope it all works out in the end and don't get too hooked on the D4, they are very comfortable cruisers although after an AD equipped Evoque you may want to buy some seasickness tablets!
Tough luck Griff but glad it's being sorted...country life is great.

I actually moved to Admiral this morning after having a £2,000 plus renewal from Aviva!! It is for two cars though and includes two daughters one of which is only 17!!

However Admiral have cut the quote by half and with a lower excess on my Evoque. Have done a thorough comparison and can't see any area not covered by Admiral apart from pano roof...couldn't get 100% guarantee it would be covered by glass protection.

So am glad that they also provide a good service at the claim stage which is so important.
Sounds like things are as good as they could be....

I like Admiral as well and have 4 cars insured with them on a multi-car policy for £1200. The Evoque costs me less than £250 to insure.
Sorry to hear Griff, but glad it's all amicable, and very good to hear Admiral are doing the business and allowing it to go to a decent repair shop, Their Multi-car policy is very good value, hope it all works out well.
Sorry to hear this.

At least it shows that there are still some decent people out there and at least nobody was hurt,

Sounds like our friends from admiral are looking after you.
Sorry to hear about the accident Griff. lad everything is going to be sorted with ease. might give Admiral a try myself next time I need to renew. Endsleigh are poor, having tried four times now to get paperwork correct from my initial quote.
