Just came across the website by the US govt.

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/PowerSear...yp=newMake

seems realistic, But not too sure if i would have based my choice of vehicle considering that the Evoque is the best 4x4 for the second year running in it's category...
I don't think our US friends realise that we pay the equivalent of £6.31 per imperial gallon or 10 US dollars. Hence why many of us hold gas miles (mpg here) so important
Also their gallons are smaller than ours..........

How many litres in a US gallon - is it approx. 4?
3.785 - found it via a website called Google
There are other search engines available! Laughing
And volumes can go up as well as down. Wink
It's almost exactly double in the UK rather than USA.

About $7.80 to $3.50 per us gallon.

And it's all tax. the fuel works cheaper in the UK, which is crazy if you think about buying power. add $1.20 a liter tax in the UK compared to $0.10 in USA(depending on state.) and you can see how it adds up.

I travel home a lot to the UK and see the difference, so it's nice I can get away with using the train a lot. Smile
Kia/Hyundai have recently given customers some cash compensation due to their cars not achieving the published mpg figures.

In the UK we also have tax on the tax on fuel! IIRC we pay totally something like 150% tax now on fuel, more for diesel!
